After speaking with several Language companies to find a tutor for my wife and I in our quest to learn Spanish, we chose Lingual Muse. The program itself sounded like it would lend itself to the type of lessons we were looking for to learn together as a pair. After speaking with Joe G. the owner of the company I felt he really asked the right kind of questions in order to align us with a teacher to compliment our learning levels and needs. We started our lessons in February with Angelica M. (nuestra profesora) twice a week in the evenings for an hour and a half. Angelica is amazing! Not only is she such a nice relatable person, her teaching style is very conducive to learning a second language for two people who have been out of school for a while. Although my wife and I both have graduate degrees I feel learning a second language has been challenging as we both learn at different rates, but I feel Angelica’s teaching style has lent itself to us keeping at the same pace and complimenting each others skill level. We can’t say enough about Angelica as she is very good at explaining the fundamentals and the rules while making it fun and stress free. Angelica is very good at anticipating what lessons and next steps we are ready for, especially with two working people learning part time in the evenings. We are painting “thin layers” she says and I believe it is working. We are retaining more Spanish through her tutoring than any previous attempts with other teachers.
