i contracted with window world to install vinyl siding on my home in june of 2022. work started sometime in early december. WW sent two men to my home to do the installation. one of the men was an obvious meth addict. after two weeks of stop and start work, i began to complain to WW about both the men at my home and the quality of the work they were performing, and also about the condition they left my home and yard in each day. i will attach photos to show the sub-par work and also photos of my yard.
i called WW numerous time to complain. i told them i was not happy with the work these men were doing. i also told them i was very uncomfortable with them at my house. i was repeatedly told that "someone from the main office" would be out to look at the job. i sent photos to the office so they knew what i was referring to. i also hired a house inspector to do an inspection of the siding installation and sent the resulting report to their office, including photos. i felt as though my complaints were being dismissed repeatedly.
through the end of december in to january, for about three weeks, no one came to the house to work, nor did anyone contact me as to what the status of the job was............finally, i was informed that the meth addict would no longer be working at my home, but the other man, ROLAND (remember his name, this man is STILL working for window world) would be returning to "finish the job"...........i told them i did not understand why he was going to continue working on my home when i had complained about his work. again, i felt as though my concerns were not being addressed. it was only after i informed the main office that i would not be paying them the final installment that they sent someone else out to look at the work. finally, someone acknowledged that the work done by ROLAND and the meth addict was terrible and unacceptable. but EVEN THEN, ROLAND was brought back on the job to "finish up"!!
in the end, ALMOST everything that was not done properly was torn off. (as you can see in the photos, the underlayment was not installed properly. ROLAND used bits and pieces randomly, leaving big gaps. the siding was not removed to fix this issue. i am not happy about that, but at that point i let it go. honestly i was worn down) a new crew was brought to the site and they replaced everything else properly. the job was finished on march 2, 2022........8 and a half months after initially contracting window world. the anxiety and stress i felt during these eight months was overwhelming. my yard was a disaster. my driveway was an obstacle course littered with construction debris and boxes of materials left out in the weather. ladders and scaffolding were left up. i cannot say how disappointed i was with the whole experience. the attached pictures will help to illustrate.
i understand that big companies, like window world, use contracted workers. i find it unacceptable that window world not only sent ROLAND back to my house after my complaints, but that they continue to use him! i would think twice about contracting window world to install vinyl siding on your home.
