Horrible experience, went in for heart attack had stint put in. The person taking me to my room asked if I like to be called Jim, Jimmy or James my name is Brad . After operation next morning they brought me breakfast. They wouldn't let me sit up .I couldn't see the food above me, I told them I cant eat laying on my back. They said you'll have to do the best you can. Couldn't see so I grabbed some eggs with my hand started eating but was choking, sat up a bit to drink some water. Nurse walked in and said I told you to lay on your back.told her I was choking.she said your just going to do your best. So I pushed my food away even though I was so hungry. About 10 hours after stint. I nurse walked in gave me a shot of dye for a stress test. Was told every ten to twenty minutes was told to lay flat or I would bleed to death. Little bit later they had me stand up sit in a wheelchair go upstairs stand up crawl on the bed for a scan, then stand up get back in wheelchair. Wheeled to a test area where I was told I was going to walk on a treadmill. Sat there 10 to 15 minutes. Heard the nurse on phone asking if I was really supposed to take this test. Nobody said a word just wheeled me back to my room. Wierd couldn't sit up to eat but could sit in a wheelchair for 20 minutes .they said I could bleed to death if I sat up. Later had visit from doctor said everything looks good like to see you get up and walk around. In the meantime we will get release papers going. Then a nurse came in to give me a sonogram she asked if i could lean towards her for better position.then I got scolded for not laying flat on back. I was frustrated and asked who the hell am I supposed to listen too. Waited 30 forty minutes for the nurse to give me release papers no one came. So I got dressed a got ready to leave and walk around a bit, like the doctor told me to . She finally came in to fill out some papers then asked me a bunch of questions about suicide and aids. Still cant figure out what this had to do with heart attack . I asked why she said we ask everyone these questions. Then she began to explain the medications. I had a heart attack 6 years ago and ask if I could keep taking the blood thinners my cardiologist prescribed. I said so I need to throw away the pills I just bought.she said yes. She said if I didn't take the new thinners I would die. What a bunch of crap. We argued for ten minutes over this. Another nurse came in and straightened it out. Then she was explaining what to do after release, I asked when I could take bandage off groin she said anytime. Wow an hour before if I stood up or I would bleed to death. I didn't know you could heal that quick. I have a lot more about my experience but I think you get the picture. If this was my only option in the future I'd rather die than be treated like this.
