Dr. Thomas Maring is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University in 1985 with honors. Dr. Maring then earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry at Oregon Health Science University school of Dentistry in 1989 with high honors, in Portland Oregon. He was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon (National Dental Honor Society) in 1989 and was awarded the Pierre Fauchard Award, for highest clinical scholarship the same year. Following dental school, Dr. Maring completed his externship in the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of California San Francisco in 1988. His next educational venture was completing his doctorate of medicine from UCLA Medical school in 1993. After medical school, Dr. Maring completed his internship in general surgery at the UCLA Medical Center and his residency in the section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCLA School of Dentistry from 1994-96. In the following spring of 1997, he did his fellowship in Reconstructive Surgery in Edmonds, Washington. Dr. Maring has been humbled to have been consistently selected by his colleagues from 2006-2015 as “Seattle‘s Top Dentist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Implants” with SeattleMet Magazine. Dr. Maring was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. His hobbies include boating, fishing, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also has the privilege of working alongside his wife of twenty years, Dr. Susan Maring. Dr. Susan Maring who is a periodontist, collaborates closely with Dr. Thomas Maring when treatment planning patients who are in need of dental implants and/or teeth extractions.
