Dr. Tamara Koss is a board-certified dermatologist practicing at the Schweiger Dermatology Group in Smithtown, Long Island. Dr. Koss specializes in all areas of dermatology, including general, pediatric dermatology and dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Koss also has advanced training in cosmetic and laser surgery of the skin. Dr. Koss graduated magna cum laude with highest honors in psychology from Harvard University. While at Harvard, she was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Dr. Koss received her M.D. degree with honors from the Yale University School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her internal medicine internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and her dermatology residency at Columbia University, where she served as chief resident. She then completed a one-year cosmetic dermatology fellowship at the Boston Dermatology and Laser Center, a practice affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Koss has authored numerous articles in leading medical journals and has coauthored two book chapters. She has lectured at many national dermatology meetings and has performed collaborative research with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Koss is an attending physician at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and Huntington Hospital. She is a native Spanish speaker.
