SpayXperts PLUS, Affordable Vet Care

We have gone to SpayXperts for years. It's where I took my dog to get neutered, where I've taken him to get his shots, and where I've taken him any time he has a problem. However, when it comes to consistency of service, they are absolutely terrible. My dog, Wookie, suffers from terrible seasonal allergies, something we discussed with the staff and vet there. We changed his diet, limited his time outside, gave him medication (Apoquel) and supplements, and finally tried allergy shots. This worked best, but Wookie doesn't suffer from year-round allergies. The vet told us the shot lasts 1-2 months, but since my dog's allergies are only seasonal, we were told we didn't need to worry about doing it every month, just when it flares up. Apparently, this isn't the case. Despite calling and confirming several times that no appointment would be needed (and after having multiple visits for allergies before), we were told that the vet we saw no longer worked there and that they wouldn't give my dog his allergy shot. They said he needed to have been on it regularly. After explaining our history with SpayXperts, they continued to refuse to provide the shot without an office visit...and they wouldn't do an office visit today. It's impossible to get an appointment with them anymore, and they make no accommodations for a pet in need. Wookie's eyes are red, and his skin is so irritated it is flaking off. He can't stop scratching and licking, even with his cone. We and the vet know what he suffers from and how to resolve it. Instead, we are finding another vet. Years of being a customer/patient were wasted. Spend the money to go elsewhere. Don't waste your time frantically calling each morning for an appointment. My guess is they've grown too big too fast, and the quality of care and service has suffered. I won't be back.

Took my dog in for his vaccinations and needed two rounds. Gave the first and did fine. Scheduled his second. Round along with neutering and microchipping. I ended up having to be out of town and had my daughter drop him off for me. First thing, they wouldn’t let me pay for it a head of time. Second thing, when I went to make sure he was current on shots because of being exposed to parvovirus they told me he hadn’t received any more shots. She looked at his chart and saw the notes where they were suppose to do shots and chipping as well but did neither. I asked why they didn’t do it and they responded we rely on you to tell us what we are doing. Really!! So you they don’t bother to look at the dogs chart before doing a procedure? And now my dog is in danger of getting sick because you rely on me to do your job for you? Will never use them again and will discourage others from the same.

Oh let me tell you about my experience. The woman that checked us in asked if my dog was on any medication- I told her she was at the vet last weekend and received the flea/tick pill and she had hookworms and was on medication for 3 days for that. No problem???? Well when I picked her up the same woman checked us out when I got there and said my dog had diarrhea and they suggest I see a full service vet for parasites - I told her again she was treated for hookworms- she said oh that’s probably what caused it - she told the old drill sergeant- and she lost it. She went to the back to get my dog and literally yelled so everyone could hear. THANKS FOR BRINGING HOOKWORMS IN TO OUR CLINIC - someone else yells - YEAH THANKS FOR INFECTING OUR CLINIC! When she came out I asked if it was me they were yelling about - she said YES HOOKWORMS ARE PARASITES - I said I told the person that checked us in. She said I DON’T KNOW WHO IT WAS BUT YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN HERE. The entire time the woman that checked us in stood there and never said a word. Will never go back! Will never refer them and will probably file a complaint with the BBB.
