Not a single day goes by that I don't regret hiring Scalish Construction. Frank: To be clear, we continued to attempt to work with Scalish following this review, but were never able to come to any understanding. You personally came in to our home multiple times and told us you felt the work was done and done well. At which point we hired an attorney, because you did not seem realistic about what quality service or product meant. We have a microwave that doesn't fit our CUSTOM CABINETS, whose dimensions were sent to Scalish PRIOR to anything being finalized with the cabinets. Scalish confirmed receipt of the specific items being ordered so that the cabinets could be designed accordingly (have emails to document this). We have trim on the floor that ENDS before the toe kicks leaving a gap that was only covered with a poor caulking job. We continue to have door trim that is SIGNIFICANTLY short of the floor. Nearly all of the trim needs to be completely redone - because Scalish attempted to cut corners to use less wood than was needed. Worth noting that we NEVER said no to an increase in budget for trim, in fact we approved a change order for additional trim costs. We continue to have a floor that was not refinished THROUGHOUT (as dictated in our contract). We continue to have walls that had cracked/were poorly sanded PRIOR to the last punch list. We continue to have the same issue with an incorrectly installed floor tile that was an issue prior to the walk through completed with you. Our oven remains scratched and dented from the poor install by Scalish. Our daughter's playroom is freezing because the insulation wasn't done fully behind the radiator or between the ceiling and roof. We have a gap in our bathroom floor tile between the floor and the half wall because the custom built vanity was measured incorrectly. We have damaged doors and a stair riser. We have missing original hardware. So many shortcuts and things that you should have just done right (or corrected) if you truly cared about the product opposed to maximizing your profit. We have photos to document all this, and more. So please don't try to rewrite history.
