Dr. Nikhil Shyam is a board-certified dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
Shyam received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, where he majored in nutritional sciences. After obtaining his medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Dr. Shyam completed his internship at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, New York. He subsequently completed his dermatology residency at the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Shyam has developed a strong interest in the use of platelet-rich plasma and is at the forefront of its application in acne scarring, hair restoration and wound healing. His research articles have been published in premier dermatology journals, such as The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. He has presented his research nationally at top institutions, including Johns Hopkins University and has been invited to lecture at the annual meeting of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS).
The guiding philosophy behind Dr. Shyam’s practice of dermatology is listening to his patients’ needs and goals. He is a firm believer in a team-oriented approach and works with his medical and cosmetic clients to help guide and formulate the best, personalized treatment plan. While specializing in non-surgical cosmetic enhancements such as neurotoxins, lasers and fillers, Dr. Shyam is always conservative in his approach to skin rejuvenation and aims to create a natural and refreshed appearance ensuring his patients are always comfortable with their own skin.
Following his over 10 years of training, Dr. Shyam moved back to his home in Long Island to practice within his community. He enjoys staying active and traveling around the world.
