Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Tranovich has more than 35 years of experience with diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions affecting bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. He has special interest in total knee and hip replacement, osteoarthritis, knee arthroscopy, carpal tunnel syndrome, and trigger finger.
Dr. Tranovich earned his degree at The Ohio State University in Columbus, and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Eastern Orthopaedic Association, Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, Tri-State Orthopaedic Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society, and Allegheny County Medical Society.
Dr. Tranovich has been an active preceptor in teaching orthopaedic medicine to family practice residents. He also serves on the board of the McKeesport Hospital Foundation. In 2009, the Allegheny County Medical Society presented Dr. Tranovich with the Physician Volunteer Award in recognition of his service to Auberle, an organization that works with at-risk youth and families in western Pennsylvania. He has been a volunteer leader with Auberle for more than 15 years and currently serves as chair of the Pauline Auberle Foundation.
Dr. Tranovich has medical privileges at Jefferson Hospital, UPMC McKeesport Hospital, and Waterfront Surgery Center.
