After reading reviews and getting several estimates I used Lumberjack as well as referred my neighbors to them. (who have also left 5+ VMs about the rebate with no response!)
What I did not know at the time - no permits, no Xcel refund, no respect for my time and no way I would recommend them again.
Initially I was very happy and would have provided a 5 star review. However, I cannot in good faith do that now.
While they were a bit higher than other places when the Xcel rebate was factored in it was about the same. Given the reviews and meeting Mike I decided to use them.
The install went fine for both the AC and the furnace, however, they did not pull permits which was a bit troublesome. Their install team was great and I did end up with a better AC than planned due to stock issues.
The problems have come after. First off, I was told that I was supposed to get an external thermometer which I never got. When I called the office to inquire about it Missy knew nothing about it and nobody ever called me back.
Five months after my install I have no Xcel rebate - $500. I was first brushed off as dumb and told to do the forms myself and that all I had to do was google for them. I got sent forms to fill out. The forms they sent me were for MN. CO Xcel requires the vendor to submit for the customer.
I called Xcel multiple times and there is nothing they can do and they confirmed LJ is not an authorized installer. There is no way around it. My install was mid-July. Since then I have called 10 times and VMs are never returned. I lost count of the emails I have sent, including to Mike. Nothing. I finally went by the office on Sept 23 to work directly with Missy. She is very nice but was not able to get it taken care of and told me that they would directly pay me the money if they could not get things taken care of with Xcel.
2 months later....more calls, more emails. I was passed off to Roseanna, Mike's assistant, for help. Does not return emails, does not return calls. There is NO way to contact Mike directly (and I have searched for both cell and home numbers. personal emails etc.) as he does not provide his cell and apparently does not check his email.
So, I am out $500. They also get $150 per install from Xcel so there is also a benefit to them.
Completely unprofessional and I know I am the only customer that they told would get an Xcel refund that never has AND that has gotten blown off by Mike and his team when trying to get them to submit the paperwork. Their previous responses to reviews about the rebate is they were a young company with growing pains. Unsure what the excuse is now.
