As a parent, and a soccer assistant coach myself, I highly recommend the JR7 Academy Training with coach James Riley. top notch program: the coach, the philosophy, the drills, the players; all-around high value!
1. JR7 is a great academy level soccer training system, that helps the kids grow technically, physically, and mentally. My son has improved considerably since starting it two months ago. not only on the field, but also off the field. how he manages his food diet, his sleep, his focus/discipline, the competitive drive... not only you see the value on the field, but you also benefit from the various online programs that coach James offers (the weekly online mentorship calls, the online videos, ...)
2. Coach James is top class! yes, it helps to have the pedigree of being an ex-MLS Pro. but in addition, his training is very structured, intentional, comprehensive, and intense. His attention to details and his focus on giving every player the correct constructive feedback in a timely manner is excellent. Plus, he is constantly driving every player to be the best he can, technically, physically, and mentally. He is a no-nonsense coach; there is no goofing around. no wasting time. no operating at only 80%. every minute of practice is a push for every player to get better and be more consistent. you practice at 100%, then you play the game at 100%. He is passionate about his craft and enjoys sharing his Pro experience with the players.
3. for my son, who is 2008, playing with a mix of players where most of them are older/stronger/faster, is a great way to calibrate his skills and push himself further. in two months (3x per week), he improved, and now plays on the 2007 team (one year up). you can see his confidence level in his touch on the ball, passing accuracy, calm under pressure, etc...
