Herrick J. Siegel, MD, has completed more than 10,000 total joint replacement procedures, including some of the most complex reconstructions in the United States. On top of these incredible accomplishments, Dr. Siegel is board certified in orthopedic surgery and is the only orthopedic oncologist in Alabama, which means his Birmingham patients have their orthopedic needs covered from head to toe.
Dr. Siegel started his career with a medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in New York City. He went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center and did his fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
All of his training and experience have led Dr. Siegel to earn the Top Doctors in America award from 2008 to the present, the Best Doctors in America award from 2007 to the present, and the Top Doctors for Cancer award from 2006 to the present. He was also selected by Newsweek Magazine as one of the top orthopedic oncologists in the US.
Dr. Siegel also believes in sharing his knowledge, so he serves as Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham where he earned an Outstanding Faculty of the Year award in 2007.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Siegel serves as a surgical educator for Onkos, Biomet, Exactech, Aesculap, and Corin, and he’s part of the innovation teams at Biomet, Corin, Aesculap, and Onkos.
