ohn G. Drewes - Founder
Our founder, John Drewes, is a true leader of people. John has used his folksy, down-to-earth approach and exceptional planning skills to help his clients make better financial decisions for nearly 50 years now. A former military veteran & music educator, John started his first insurance agency in 1976. Under John’s leadership, that agency focused on serving an often under-served market: Educators & Governmental Employees.
Never content with the status quo, John helped his agency to grow and diversify over the years into what is now Global Financial Associates. A firm that today provides financial services, asset management, insurance & annuities to Educators & Governmental Employees as well as company 401-k Plan participants across the country.
In 2012, without any warning, John lost his hearing in both ears completely. Cochlear implants have restored some of John’s hearing, but not what he had hoped. Consequently, John found Gracie, his loveable auditory service dog, who is his constant companion. John stays involved in the firm’s progress but has relinquished his daily management responsibilities to son, Jim Drewes.
John, his wife Beth, and Gracie, now split their time now between their Tampa, Florida & Bloomington, Indiana residences when they are not traveling the world.
