I am a mother who has EDS and I brought my child in to be reevaluate for EDS since his symptoms has worsen and he now has a heart condition. The doctor was not helpful at all. He kept asking as to why we were there. I as a mother am trying to find out why is my child's health condition is getting worse, thinking it might be related to EDS. Rather than him listening to the symptoms, he kept telling us what EDS is and that EDS is not causing the issue. He was only good for repeating medical knowledge but he was not able to problem solve the situation. The other doctor that was in there (I can't recall his name) was able to listen to the symptoms and made helpful suggestions as to what it can be and who should I go to take my child to be evaluated. Dr. Gotway, may know what EDS is but his poor bedside manners of listening to the patient and thinking outside the box is minimal. So if you want a doctor that will just throw doctor jargon, them he is the one to go to. However, if you are looking for a doctor to listen and investigate the symptoms to figure out what is wrong, then he is not the doctor to go to. Just as a side note, I have 20 years of working as a Medical Social Worker with doctors and he is one of the doctors that I would not ever recommend to patients.

Most unhelpful, rude, and condescending doctor I've ever been too. He invalidated my disability and my mother's disability and belittled us the whole appointment. He is extremely unprofessional and is not thorough with his explanations or tests.
