Julie is a crook. She overpromised and under delivered. We were first impressed by her as she came in full of energy and ideas. But sadly, this was all a show. She charged us a phenomenal amount for our renderings. The renderings were unfinished and looked like she had cut them out of a magazine and glued them together. Her helper kept saying the renderings are not what we will be delivering. Then why send them? She refused to listen to our ideas and almost sounded angry and upset if you suggested ideas. She took the liberty of contacting contractors and charging us for the time she spent with them. What's worse we had no idea what she was talking to the contractors about as she had shown us no design. Each time we asked her "why are we hiring contractors without finalizing the design", she would get angry on the telephone. She has some good ideas but is not an easy person to work with. One contractor that came to our house said "she did her best to keep him on the phone". Overall, Julie is a difficult person that has a problem with her ego. She thinks that no one else's opinion matters and the moment you make suggestions, she will cut you off and almost treat you like you are an idiot. She is expensive and overcharges to scam you. This is suggested by many others in her reviews. Be aware and do not hire Design Matters. Julie has started to expand her business in another state. Her time is limited and you will not be the priority.
