As a former employee in a management position, I have inside, behind the scenes information of what actually goes on at Paul Wright Roofing. First, on SO many occasions, I have been present while Paul bad mouths, curses at, and otherwise degrades customers behind their backs as if it is their fault that Paul Wright Roofing has taken YEARS to complete the project on their house. Leave them hanging for months, sending 1 guy for a day now and then...My apologies Mark & Joanne!
Paul also speaks this way about his own employees. Always behind their backs!
Second, Paul Wright Roofing subcontracts out ALL whole roof replacements to other companies. Managers and salespeople are instructed to lie to current and prospective customers or try to avoid answering any questions on this matter. I can testify as a fact, that EVERY residential and many commercial whole roof replacements done in the last 4+ years has been subcontracted out to crews coming from Philadelphia, Trenton, etc. I know this because I personally, was in charge of finding them, hiring them, and supervising them on the jobs. This process isn't wrong, It helps the industry maintain reasonable prices. It's the deception I don't agree with. Many of these crews don't last long because they do a terrible job. In these cases, its usually a few jobs and they disappear. Leaving job site managers with yet again, another new set of faces, unknown quality, communication difficulties, etc. And what about the homes that are Guinea Pigs for new sub try-outs? Spinning in circles gets tiresome!
Third, the salesman named Troy has absolutely ZERO experience installing a roof. He more often than not, mis-measures customers roofs, overlooks material specifics, and makes promises to customers that are not relayed on the work orders. This results in incorrect work orders, incorrect material lists, and confusion regarding what work is actually to be done. Troy prices these jobs with software parameters based on his inaccurate measurements. Often resulting in the customer paying for more materials and labor than the job calls for. I have sent trucks to go pick up anywhere from $100 to $3,000 worth of materials SO many times. It is hard to explain to a homeowner why there is a full skid of shingles left over, sitting in their driveway. Paul refuses to hold accountable, the person/s responsible. Unfortunately, the customer is billed the full amount plus extras...
Fourth, there is an unwritten policy of NOT getting the required permits unless caught by Code Enforcement. When that happens, it takes hours to find Paul, get a check for the city, get the forms filled out and submitted before the job can resume!
Unfortunately, it could also lead to homeowners being held responsible for fines and fees.
BEWARE! It's not all that it seems on the surface!
