**THE SERVICE WAS NOT RENDERED AND MR. GEORGE HAS NOT REFUNDED MY DEPOSIT**I reached out to Ben regarding the installation of interior doors and a staircase. Ben came out to look at the property and provided a quote that did not meet my budget. I let him know I wouldn't be able to hire him due to the price being to high, he then agreed to complete the work at lower price since his motto is "is not about the money, is about the people." On August 13, a contract was signed for him to complete the work above at the agreed lower priced and a key for the property was given to him. The deposit for him to start the work was then sent via QUICK PAY as requested by Ben on August 14 for him to start working that day. Instead he was a no show, an sent a text saying he was not able to start the work due to him being out on an emergency call. Thursday and Friday, August 15-16, he sent a text stating he was moving tools to start work. Once gain he was a no show again. Due to him not showing up to work, I decided to cancel the contract using the 3 day cancelation rule and requested a refund of my deposit. He then sent a text, stating that I had reached him outside of business hours, when it was incorrect, his website state he's open for business Monday-Saturday from 8:00am – 10:30pm and the text was sent 7:57 on Friday the 16. When I tried to get an answer as to when I would get my deposit since no work was done, he became highly upset that I had woken him up from a scheduled nap, that he doesn't do refunds via Quick pay and hung up. How convenient for him to be able to collect the funds so quickly and effortlessly but make you go through hell to get your money back. When I tried to call again his phone was off, then he blocked my number so I was not able to communicate via text. Since Friday the 16, I attempted to communicate with Ben George through phone, text and email, with the sole purpose of getting my deposit in the same manner it was sent, which was Quick Pay. Instead of getting a response of when my deposit would be refunded, he emailed me a cease and desist letter to stop contacting him, when he owes me money. Ben also inadvertently forgot to erase Kristen Green's name from cease and desist letter sent to me, which is the previous person that also wrote a review of the negative experience she had with Acer Construction here on the Google review. So it was alarming to find out that I was not the only one that he was issuing these letter to. As of today, August 21 he was not refunded my deposit, so I proceed with filing a police report and a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General. I will not stop until my money is refunded for services that were never rendered and I will inform people of my experience with Acer Construction. This review is to make the general public aware of my experience with Acer construction and Benjamin George.
