Dr. Shen Ling came to the U.S in his early life, and has been through rigorous and highly competitive training throughout his career. With a biology major, he continued onto graduate studies at UCLA, and then entered prestigious Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors in 1994. He furthered his education, returning to UCLA, with an three-year specialty residency training program in periodontics and implant surgery.
In 2001 Dr. Ling became Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). Dr. Ling is a consultant to several dental manufacturers, and frequently speaks at national meetings and study groups. His most recent lecture was given at an international implant meeting in Shanghai, China.
While at Harvard and at UCLA, Dr. Ling was involved with research in anti-microbial therapy in periodontics and non-surgical therapy which have won him awards and resulted in scientific publications in several dental journals. Dr. Ling limits his clinical practice to surgical and conservative periodontics, periodontal plastic surgery, soft and hard tissue reconstructive surgery, and surgical aspects of dental implants. He is currently a part-time lecturer at UCLA School of Dentistry.
Dr. Ling spends most of his personal time his personal time mostly with his two daughters, and is a soccer coach for their teams. He is married to Dr. Wei Huang, MD.
