Satyen Madkaiker, MD, has lived in Jacksonville since 2001. He’s been in private practice in Jacksonville, Florida, since 2003, serving patients in St. John’s, Duval, and Clay counties. He moved to Jacksonville from Philadelphia after completing his Psychiatry Residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and a Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry. He has previously been the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the Baptist group of hospitals. He continues to be associated with St. Vincent’s Hospital and Memorial Hospital. In the past, he has been the Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Florida.
He has worked extensively with patients who have had various psychiatric disorders and substance abuse issues. He has emphasized the correct diagnosis and the use of medications and therapies that are tailor-made for each patient. He has extensive training and experience with current evidence-based patient care, medication management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Ketamine Infusion Therapy.
He has been impressed by the use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and its use in treatment-resistant depression. His work in TMS is the culmination of over 25 years of clinical practice, academic teaching, and clinical research.
