Stephen K. Johnson, M.D., Ph.D. grew up in Fairfax, Virginia, before moving to North Carolina to complete college and graduate school. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University and his doctorate in clinical psychology from The University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
