Researched moving companies and researched just hiring help. Went with the middle ground and hired Maya's. They are not technically licensed and carrying the legal boundaries as the more expensive licensed moving companies in the state, but we found the price fair and the service was good. They will bring a truck and all the equipment and they charge by the hour. After the move we realized licensed moving companies in the state are to provide their tariff of rates which is to protect customers from over charges and added time. If you visit the PUC website you will learn a lot. These guy's do not have a PUC license. Movers must provide a written estimate prior to the move, which Maya's did not. After our research, we have discovered due to no licensing, we can report this to the PUC and may potentially get reimbursed the cost of our move which we were excited to hear. To those who use them, here is a link: http://www.puc.state.pa.us/consumer_info/transportation/motor_carrier/limos_taxis_movers.aspx

If you are looking to move and need a mover that is under the table, not licensed, not working under the regulations of the local and state affiliated government, not paying workers compensation for it's workers and looking to save a buck, I highly recommend Maya's Movers. They will bring a truck , the equipment and a team of workers paid cash under the table to have you moved. The guys actually do a great job and Tony cracks the whip well to ensure so. Of course when you are not paying taxes you may do a better job. The offer is there to pay in cash and save some money. Still better than paying more with the bigger companies if you don't mind the lack of government sanctioned regulations and protections to the consumer.
