My 24-year-old healthy son joined this gym in msp on 9/4/23. He signed up to work with a "certified personal trainer" CPT. After 3 workouts within 1 week with the trainer my son was admitted into the ER on 9/9/23 with Rhabdomyolysis! My son had a 4 day inpatient Hospital stay on IV therapy to save his kidneys due to Rhabdomyolysis! I called the gym and I spoke with trainer and requested a copy of the regimen done with my son try to figure out how this happened and I requested a copy of his CPT certificate. Instead of the trainer providing me with a copy of the information I requested, he told me to contact his attorney! The gym CEO has this trainer listed on his website as a CPT. So I contacted CEO to to get a copy of the trainer's certificate. I feel that it is only reasonable & responsible that if you have a trainer listed on your website as a CPT you should have a copy of the certificate available. Neither the trainer or CEO has provided this information. They have not accepted any responsibility or shown any sympathy for what happened to my son! I have excellent health insurance so money is not the issue. The issue is accepting responsibility for what happened to my son at that gym working with a "CPT". The trainer should be responsible for having a written regimen of the routines that are done with clients and they should be able to show proof of their certificates and credentials as trainers.
