We had a sudden death in our family. No arrangements had been made when it occurred late in the evening at a Walnut Creek hospital. I called Payless in the morning. They returned my call within a few minutes and we’re very kind and respectful. I answered a few questions and they assured me that they would take care of everything. About 90 minutes later they let me know that they had picked up the body and would keep us informed. Within about two weeks they let us know we could pick up the ashes and Death Certificate. We only had to go to their office once. I couldn’t imagine anyone providing better service. There was no suggestion or pressure for additional services, just a simple $895 transaction.
