Only thing giving this place two stars is the fact that there were only two maintenance guys the entire year and they were stellar. From fixing broken doors to shoveling the driveway leading up to the parking garage during the storms up here, they were amazing. The rest of the apartment can’t really be said for. Never was able to really get help from the staff when having questions, would always be put on hold as they ask their supervisors. Was supposed to move into the “ready” building at the beginning of the year and the unit was missing basic things such as a dishwasher cover, our light cover and it took more than a month to get a work order fixed on our water heater that left us with no hot water during the winter. The parking garage gates were broken 90% of the year and there is no surveillance. Yet the parking still cost $100 a month. We moved in August 15th and they didn’t prorate the month, still was charged a full months rent. But what can I say, my roommates and I got used to their cash grab attempts.
There were multiple months during the year where only two of the four roommates in our apartment unit were present the entire month and they charged us more for utilities than we were being charged when all four roommates were present. Then when we went to the desk asking, they sent us to the city of Fort Collins for the utility issues and they told us that there was nothing they could do since they disclose that information. This happened often where The Standard gave us misleading information and when we went back in after the city turned us away, we were put on hold as the employees had to ask their supervisor and we still received no word and no compensation.
My roommate had someone park in his spot that was on the first floor in the parking garage and it took multiple times of going in and telling the front desk to get them towed for something to be done. They kept telling him to park on the top floor of the parking garage (and if we’re paying $100/month, we would want our assigned spot that’s not 5 floors up). The employees finally took action because my roommate went in again and some supervisor was present so the front desk employee was almost forced to finally do something.
To all future residents, if you run into any inconvenience, expect something like this to happen because the lack of initiative and flat out not knowing what to do will result in you either wasting money and/or time.
Never really heard anything good said about the Standard while here. My roommates and I remember looking at the reviews when moving in and they must have been pulled from other Standard Apartments because they were posted months before people had even moved in to this brand new complex up here in Fort Collins.
