After being spayed at Anicira on 2/9 at a "mass" spaying/ neutering through the rescue where we adopted her, we took our 5 month old kitten BACK to Anicira on 2/13 because her incision had opened and it appeared an infection was beginning(pic 1). When I called them asking if we could bring her in I was told I could bring her in the next day. The person I talked to was concerned because it was 4 o'clock and depending on how long it took us to get there she needed me to know that they closed at 5 o'clock. I insisted, And she reluctantly said my husband could bring her in. They took her to the back, without my husband able to come along and discuss the situation, and brought her back saying that we should leave the cone on and she should be fine. If she wasn't better in five days to bring her back. We did find out that they gave her a dose of an antibiotic. (Just a side note, they sent my 5 pound kitten home in a cone made for an ADULT cat. IT WAS SO BIG, IT RESTED ON THE GROUND WHEN SHE WAS STANDING UP!) We left it on anyway, because we had nothing else, having to stay with her constantly to assist her in getting food, water, and going to the litter box, until I could receive a PROPERLY sized cone for such a tiny kitten. Just TWELVE hours later, her abdomen looked like picture number two. (keep in mind they told us to monitor her for FIVE DAYS, and THEN bring her back if not better!!) I immediately sent the pictures below to our vets office and within a few hours she was having emergency surgery. Because Anicira left the incision open, it drained liquid for 12 hours and compromised the stitches on the INSIDE of her body putting them in jeopardy of opening up also. My vet cleaned the wound, replaced the inside stitches, and then sewed her back up. What was about a 1 inch incision, is now a 3 inch incision with multiple stitches on the outside. This was a $1200 lesson learned to ALWAYS take our rescues to our trusted vets at VCA-Woodbridge!

We are impressed at how well you organizes your internal process from checking-in to the end when we picked up our dog. Staffs are friendly, efficient and communicate well. The facility is clean and the price is affordable.
