As the medical director at his private practice, Aloysius G. Smith, MD, PC, serving Westchester County, Dr. Smith offers more than 20 years of experience as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He is dual board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Smith began his career at the University of the West Indies, where he earned his medical degree. He then served an internship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados, and completed fellowships in general surgery and hand surgery at New York Medical College, Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York. Dr. Smith received his fellowship in plastic surgery from the world-renowned Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota.
In addition to his extensive experience in private practice, Dr. Smith is also a faculty member of New York Medical College, where he is an assistant professor of surgery. He also serves as director of hand and plastic surgery, and director of the Sylvester J. Carter Hand Fellowship Training Program at Lincoln Hospital in New York City. As a teacher, Dr. Smith is responsible for training the next generation of plastic surgeons, so he always stays current with the latest technology and surgical developments.
Dr. Smith is the Director of Plastic Surgery at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center and St. Barnabas Hospital and Medical Center in the Bronx, and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Westchester, New York. He is also an attending physician at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan.
